"His eye was held by Susan Delgado: The blue dress, the tanned skin, the triangles of color, too pale and perfect to be makeup, which ran lightly up her cheeks; most of all her hair, which was unbound tonight and fell to her waist like a shimmer of palest silk. He wanted her, suddenly and completely, with a desperate depth of feeling that felt like sickness. Everything he was and everything he had come for, it seemed, was secondary to her."

alexrodway:

A portrait of my Pathfinder character. I based him closely off of Roland Deschain from The Dark Tower series. He’s a human gunslinger with ancient pistols and a dry attitude.
The method I used to do this portrait is kind of interesting. I took three different reference pictures and combined them to make a new face. There’s a base of Michael Fassbender with overlays of Clint Eastwood and Ian McKellen.
Pencil drawing with digital colour.

"Roland Deschain was the last of Gilead’s last great band of warriors, for good reasons; with his queerly romantic nature, his lack of imagination, and his deadly hands, he had ever been the best of them."

This illustration is a copy of a well known illustration of the Gunslinger from The Dark Tower book series. This illustration was produced free hand with no more aid then haveing the image on screen beside me whilse I drew. The shading was my own attempt at personalising the image, my style often being more scratchy and cross hatched rather then solid blocks of black, this is also the case when tackling dark area’s, that way, if I decide to go back over the image with colour, it can give the image a bit more life by showing glimpse’s of what’s in the darkness, good examples of that being the arms in this case.

This wasn’t given any shading, simply a single colour per section, but I felt it worked rather well and didn’t need to extra shading, though I may still come back to is and add another layer to it.

I find however that the simple inked version of this image works better then the coloured variant, it has more of a presence in it’s simplicity.
